mapping of Kuje North of Kuje Area Council of
the Federal Capital Terrirtory, March 2006 to
determine present and future water supply demand,
determination of the catchment areas in the Kuje
North area and the catchment's characteristics.

Geological
mapping and drilling of nearly 100 boreholes of
about 4,000m total, 1991 – 1994 and 2004
in the northeast region of Gombe State, Nigeria,
leading to the establishment of a proven 20 million
tonnes of limestone and other reserves of limestone
for a leading Nigerian cement company. The exploration
programme is well reported and documented for
the client with detailed maps and stratigraphic
sections.

Geological mapping of a coal field and drilling
of over 50 boreholes totaling over 1,300m depth
in year 2000, 2001 and 2005 leading to the establishment
of an economic coal deposit for a leading industrial
company in northeast Nigeria. The exploration
is similarly well reported and documented with
detailed maps and stratigraphic sections.

Carried
out extensive field mapping of the gypsum occurrences
in Northeast Nigeria. Undertook specific core
drilling and estimation of mode of occurrence/disposition
and reserves of gypsum deposits in northeastern
Nigeria.
WATER
RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT AND OTHER CONSULTANCY SERVICES
Mecon Geology & Engineering Services Ltd., has
undertaken several ground water resources development
Consultancy investigations and ground water schemes.
Apart from the carrying out of several geophysical
investigations for water boreholes, construction
of several boreholes. Mecon has been involved in
ground water and River basin studies.
Mecon
has carried out country wide shallow aquifer (Fadama)
Studies covering the riverine areas of at least
six States of Nigeria viz Federal Capital Territory,
Anambra, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi and Adamawa States
in support of the World Bank sponsored Fadama programme
for the promotion of Dry Season irrigation Farming
in Nigeria.
